Ton bag
Ton bags, also known as flexible freight bags, bulk bags, or space bags, are medium-sized bulk containers and a type of unit load device. When used in conjunction with cranes or forklifts, they enable unitized transportation. They are well suited for handling large quantities of bulk powdered materials and offer advantages such as large capacity, light weight, and ease of loading and unloading, making them one of the most common packaging materials. Their key features include a simple structure, low tare weight, foldability, minimal storage space when empty, and cost-effectiveness.

Scope of application for ton bags:
FIBC products have a wide range of applications, particularly for packaging bulk materials such as cement, grain, chemical raw materials, feed, starch, and minerals—whether in powder or granular form—as well as pharmaceutical ingredients, plastic resins, food additives, feed additives, refractory materials, and even hazardous substances like calcium carbide. They offer exceptional convenience during handling, transportation, and storage. FIBC products are currently experiencing robust growth, with particular popularity for one-ton capacity bags packaged on pallets—either one bag per pallet or four bags per pallet.
Features of ton bags:
1. The ton bag has a load capacity ranging from 0.5 to 3 tonnes and a volume between 500 and 2,300 liters. The safety factor can be customized to 3:1, 5:1, or 6:1 according to customer requirements.
2. Based on content, cargo is categorized into two main types: bulk cargo ton bags and small-package ton bags, suitable for both single-use and reusable applications.
3. Ton bags are classified by shape into three types: round, square, and U‑shaped.
4. Lifting structures are available in top‑mounted, side‑mounted, and bottom‑mounted configurations, typically equipped with material inlet and outlet ports.
FIBC manufacturing process:
FIBC bags are manufactured by using polypropylene as the primary raw material, blending it with a small amount of stabilizing additives, extruding the mixture into plastic film via an extruder, cutting the film into filaments, and then stretching the filaments. The resulting high‑strength, low‑elongation PP monofilaments undergo heat setting to produce a robust base fabric, which is subsequently woven and coated to form the bag’s outer layer. Finally, the fabric is sewn together with straps and other components to create the finished FIBC.
